Obituary

Joseph Pilney, 95, of Dillonvale, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2010. He was born March 16, 1914 in Bradley, Oh, the son of the late James and Bessie (Topich) Pilney Sr. Joseph was Catholic by faith. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers - Division #470, the AARP, Dillonvale Eagles, Dillonvale American Legion McCook Post 529, and the Pine Valley Sportsman's Club. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by two brothers, Andy Pilney and James Pilney; and a sister, Erma Horsky. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Mary (Corona) Pilney; a daughter Jo Ann Zavacky of St. Clairsville; a son Donald Pilney and his wife Louise of Erie, PA; a sister Helen Hetki of Parma, OH; three grandchildren, Greg Pilney, Cynthia Rutan, and Lewis Zavacky Jr.; and three great grandchildren, L.J. Zavacky III, Matthew and Rachel Rutan. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and on Saturday from 12:00 till time of service at 1:30 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second Street, Dillonvale, OH with Msgr. John Kolesar officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
