Obituary

Joseph Suriano, Sr., 79, of N. 8th St., Martins Ferry, OH died Wed., Dec. 29, 2004 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH. He was born May 30, 1925 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Louis and Amelia (Falbo) Suriano, Sr. He was retired from the Martins Ferry Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Joe was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the former V.F.W. Post #3613 both of Martins Ferry and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers John and Anthony "Tony" Suriano, an infant sister, and a grandchild Darren Scot Suriano. Surviving are his wife Dolores (Brown) Suriano, two sons Joseph Suriano, Jr. and his wife Debbi and Donald Suriano and his wife Linda all of St. Clairsville, three brothers Vincent Suriano and his wife Evelyn, Louis Suriano, Jr. and his wife Patti, and Frank Suriano and his wife Carol all of Martins Ferry, two sisters Elvera Hogue and Emily Ruskowski and a sister-in-law Lois Suriano all of Martins Ferry, five grandchildren Tiffany Suriano and Pria Myers, and Dustin, Jude, and Lainie Suriano, and a great grandchild Shelby Myers. Friends will be received Thurs 2-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Fri., Dec. 31, 2004 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove with full military honors by the Belmont Co. Council of the V.F.W. Rosary devotions will be recited Thurs. at 3:00 PM followed by Wake services at 7:30 PM both in the funeral home.
