Thomas, Joseph H. 87, of Columbus formerly of St. Clairsville, went to be with the Lord on Monday March 11, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born October 29, 1925 in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of the late James W. and Mary E. (Farmer) Thomas. Joe was the owner and operator of Thomas-Wilbert Vault Co. Blaine,OH a member of Christ United Methodist Church Wheeling,WV a Veteran of WWII in the US Army, and a member of the American Legion National Post. He graduated from Ohio Northern University and the Chicago School of Optometry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Jean (Laupp) Thomas, and a brother James W. Thomas. Joe is survived by his children: Marty (Ed) Peet of Westerville, Ohio, Cari (Jeff) Mickelson of Pickerington, Ohio, Jim (Janie) Thomas of St. Clairsville, and Bill (Charlene) Thomas of Barboursville, WV, ten grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Friends are invited to a celebration of Joe's life on Thursday March 14, 2013 from 4-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside. Services will be held on Friday March 15, 2013 at 10:30 am at Christ United Methodist Church 1232 National Road Wheeling WV, with Rev. Margie Carr officiating, interment in Greenwood Cemetery Wheeling.
