Joseph Floyd Zurek Sr., 96, of Dillonvale, Ohio, passed Monday July 28, 2014 at Gables Care Center, Hopedale, Ohio. He was born in Robyville, OH on July 20, 1918, a son of the late Andrew and Antonia Kolaszca Zurek. He was a retired employee of Consolidated Coal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Ann Skatula Zurek; brothers: Bruno, John and Walter Zurek; a son Joseph F. Zurek Jr.; sisters: Mary Slaga, Helen Tansek, and Liberty Reges; and a companion Lucy Taylor. Joseph is survived by sons: Thomas W. Zurek, and James (Sharon) Zurek all of Dillonvale; a brother Andy Zurek; Seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second Street, Dillonvale, Ohio, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday August 2, 2014.
