Josephine H. (Bumbico) Ruskowski, 80, of N. Eighth St., Martins Ferry, OH died Mon., Jan. 31, 2005 at Belmont Community Hospital, Bellaire, OH. She was born Mar. 30, 1924 in Chester, WV a daughter of the late Frank and Caterina (Ausilio) Bumbico. She was retired from the former Stone & Thomas and the Elder Beerman Dept. Stores. Josephine was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church of Martins Ferry where she belonged to the Catholic Women's Club, sang in the Choir, and served for many years on funeral luncheon committees. She was also a volunteer at St. John's School Cafeteria in Bellaire. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Tony and Nick Bumbico, three sisters Elizabeth Bumbico, Jenny Skorich and Mary Weekly Hood. Surviving are her husband Joseph A. Ruskowski, two sons Frank J. Ruskowski of Martins Ferry, and John M. (Janey) Ruskowski of Shadyside, two brothers Sam (Nancy) Bumbico of Martins Ferry and Ralph (Louise) Bumbico of Haywood, CA, two sisters Laura Ruskowski of Baltimore, MD, and Betty Pompei of Indianapolis, IN and four grandchildren Becky , Adam, Johnny and Patrick Ruskowski. Friends will be received Wed., 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Thurs., Feb. 3, 2005 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating, Burial follows in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, Martins Ferry. Rosary devotions will be recited Wed. at 3:00 PM followed by Wake services at 7:30 PM both in the funeral home.
