Joyce Evelyn Braido, 79, of Bethesda, Ohio passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center, Barnesville, Ohio. She was born August 27, 1932 in Dresden, Ohio a daughter of the late Ernest Godby and Lula Richardson Godby. Joyce was a Christian, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, always sharing a smile and a kind word to everyone she met. Joyce chose to always view the basket half full, not half empty and she handled adversity with a strength that we all admired. We will miss our mother and our friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John C. Braido;and one brother. Surviving are; daughter, Sandi Bartnicki of Hartwell Georgia; sons, David Lockhart of Warren, Ohio; Robert Braido of Lloydsville, Ohio, Joel Braido of Bethesda, Ohio, and Leo Braido of Cambridge, Ohio; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four sisters; and three brothers. Friends will be received, Wednesday 5 to 8 p.m. at Kelly Kemp Braido Funeral Homes, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio. Private services will be held, Thursday, with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio. Mom would be disappointed if we did not say thank you to the wonderful, loving, and caring staff at Emerald Pointe; and also to Dr. Souri, Barnesville Hospital, and staff, where she received the exceptional quality caring, that made this difficult time bearable.
