Joyce L. Palmer, 72, of Flushing, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Ohio Valley Medical Center. She was born July 10, 1940 in Adena, Ohio, daughter of the late Oscar L. Meddles and Roxie M. Meddles. Joyce had a deep love for her family and her church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Daryl VanCuren; brothers, Lloyd Meddles and Lawrence Meddles; and sister, Betty Ferda. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Dale E. Palmer of Flushing, Ohio; daughter, Terrie VanCuren of Smithville, Tennessee; sons, Jody (Valerie Fisher) VanCuren of Flushing, Ohio, Patrick (Candie) VanCuren of Jacobsburg, Ohio, and Charles Palmer of McMechan, West Virginia; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome to visit, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Trinity Gospel Fellowship, 71101 Morristown-Flushing Road, Flushing, Ohio where the service will be conducted, Saturday 1 p.m. Gary Smith will be officiating. Interment will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville, Ohio. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral home, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio.
