OYCE E. SHUTEK, 80, of Lansing, died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Wheeling Medical Park. She was born May 28, 1928 in Wheeling, the daughter of the late Clyde and Chloe (Nichols) Hicks. Joyce was retired from the Lansing Post Office after 34 years. She was a member of the Lansing United Methodist Church where she was a PPR member; was on the Administrative Board and was the church organist for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jacob ""Jake"" Shutek and a grandson David ""Pidgy"" Shutek. Joyce is survived by two sons Michael and his wife Debi of Jacksonville, FL and Joseph and his wife Tammy of Lansing; a daughter Kathy Mann and her husband Doug of Mt. Vernon, OH; a brother William Hicks and his wife Sandra of New Port Ritchey, FL; two grandchildren Shannon Shutek and Philip Mann; a great grandson Austin McAtee; brother in-law J. Edward Shutek and his wife Connie of St. Clairsville; several nieces and nephews as well as two very special friends Betty Savarese and Marlene Stewart. Visitation will be Thursday 2-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 am with the Reverends Donald and Karen Upson officiating. Interment will follow at Linwood Cemetery, Blaine, Ohio.
