Judie A. (Markus) Starkey Thomas, 65, of S. 8th St., Martins Ferry, OH died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 in East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born Sept. 24, 1944 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Michael J., Sr., and Ruth Ann (Hoge) Markus. She was employed by the American Legion in Martins Ferry for nineteen years. Surviving are her two sons Jeff (April) Starkey of Pleasant Grove, OH, and Rick (Tambra) Starkey of Martins Ferry, OH, a brother Mike (Sue) Markus of Pleasant Grove, a sister Debbie Markus of Grove City, OH,and five grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday 2-4 & 6-9 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 11:00 am with Pastors John Cook and Jeff Cross officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 73599 Pleasant Grove, Dillonvale, OH 43917.
