Julia (Takach) Simcox, 91, of Wayne Hays Towers, Martins Ferry, OH died Thursday, May 7, 2009. She was born Mar. 30, 1918 in Connersville, OH a daughter of the late Joseph and Lydia (Hagnan) Takach. She retired as supervisor of the nutrition program for the Belmont County Committee on Aging. Julia was a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church and the Women's Civic Club both of Martins Ferry and AARP. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Cecil B. Simcox and four brothers Alex, Joseph, John, and Andy Takach. Surviving are her three sons C. Boyer (Judy) Simcox of Cambridge, OH, Gary J. (Diana) Simcox of Belmont, OH, and Terry B. (Jeanie) Simcox of Martins Ferry, and three granddaughters Hollie, Julia E., and Megan Simcox. Friends will be received Sunday, 12-3 & 6-8 pm at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry where services will be held Monday, May 11, 2009 at 11:00 am with Rev. William O. Webster officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Elders of the church will hold bereavement services Sunday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
