June A. Dawes June A. "Liz" Nicastro Dawes, 73, of N. 4th St., Martins Ferry, OH died Sat., Nov. 2, 2002 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born Nov. 23, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA a daughter of the late Michael A. and Doris Williams Nicastro. She was active in the James C. Dawes Welding Co. of Martins Ferry from 1966 until her retirement in 1999 and was a former supervisor for the C& P Telephone Co. June was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Catholic Women's Club, and Catholic Daughters all of Martins Ferry and was a major supporter of St. Judes Children's Hospital. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James W. Dawes in 1977 and a brother Michael Nicastro. Surviving are three sons James Michael Dawes and his wife Debra A. of Mt. Pleasant, David H. Dawes and his wife Michele of N. Canton, and Brian C. Dawes and his wife Shelley of Emerson, two daughters Jennie Dawes and her husband Sam Matoni of Twinsburg, OH and Anne Margaret Martin and her husband Michael of Nashville, TN, a sister Doris J. Ruggaber of Canton, a cousin Linda LeMasters and her husband Gary of BelAir, MD, twelve grandchildren Erin, Adam, Mickey, Lauren, Allison, Rebecca, and Gloria Dawes, Annabel and Gabriel Matoni, and Hannah, David, and Rachel Lawes, and many friends and admirers. Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH Wed. 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Thurs., Nov. 7, 2002 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Stanley Zeakes officiating. Burial follows in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV. Rosary devotions will be recited Wed. at 3:00 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
