Katharine "Kay" (Kadar) Ziegler, 93, of Martins Ferry, OH died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH. She was born Apr. 10, 1917 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late John and Helen (Gergely) Kadar. Kay was a licensed beautician for over 60 years and the owner /operator of the former Chic Beauty Shop of Martins Ferry. She was the oldest member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Henry J. Ziegler, a granddaughter Jennifer Ziegler, her brothers Kenneth Kadar, Kasmer Kadar, and Victor Gregory, and a sister Matilda Pfieffer. Surviving are her son Kurt K. (Mettelise) Ziegler of Cannonsburg, PA, her daughter Katharine H. (Robert) Burns of Wintersville, OH, and her grandchildren Mark (Stephanie) Ziegler, Christine Ziegler, Loraine Ziegler, Rachael (Jonathan) Wright, Michael Burns, and Joseph Burns. Family and friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH, Sunday from 12-3 and 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Phillip Van Dam officiating. Burial at the convenience of the family at Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 10686 Ste. Rte. 150, Rayland, OH 43943.
