Katherine Byrd Sampson 92, of Reservoir Road St.Clairsville, formerly of Juno Beach FL. died Saturday April 23, 2011 at Forest Hill Retirement Community St.Clairsville; she was born December 1, 1918 in Bridgeport. A daughter of the late John W. and Margaret Masser Byrd. She was a retired Secretary-Treasurer for Ohio Coal Company, a member of Order of the Eastern Star #452 Bridgeport, and the Alpha Chapter of Alpha Pisigma Sorority, and a graduate of Bridgeport High School Class of 1936. In addition to her parents Katherine was preceded in death by her loving husband Ford Sampson in November 4, 1979, then two weeks later her brother on November 20, 1979. She is survived by family friends Martha McGranahan, and her daughter Beth Bogetich of St. Clairsville. There are few left behind to grieve for Katherine because her loved ones have all gone to be with the Lord. According to Katherine wishes there will be a graveside service at Linwood Cemetery on Tuesday April 26, 2011 at 12 noon with Rev. Laurie Armstrong officiating.
