Kathie Jean Hayes, 66, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Monday, February 16, 2015 at Wheeling Hospital. She was born July 1, 1948 in Barnesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Homer Carpenter and Jean Powell Carpenter. Kathie loved spending time with her family and traveling. She was a "super shopper", truly enjoying it with great enthusiasm and interest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Bruner and son-in-law, Jason Hupp, Kathie is survived by her husband of 45 years, Howard Hayes of Barnesville, Ohio; daughters, Mandy Hupp of Barnesville, Ohio and Jodie (Ray) Weber of Shadyside, Ohio; son, Steven Hayes of St. Augustine, Florida; grandchildren, Makenzie, Cali, Gavin, and Cady; brothers, Chris Carpenter, Ken (Tonya) Carpenter, Tom (Darla) Carpenter all of Barnesville, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, and special friends; and her special companion, her cat, Rio. Family and friends are welcome to visit, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Father Dave Cornett presiding, Friday 11 a.m., Assumption Church, 306 W. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Interment will follow at Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville, Ohio. A Wake Service will be conducted, Thursday, 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
