Kathy Padgelek of Martins Ferry passed away on Sunday, August 23rd after a very long, hard fought battle with many health issues. She was 78 years old.
Kathy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, Grammy, Great Grammy and friend.
She was born and raised in Martins Ferry, graduated from Martins Ferry High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Stoney. Kathy was a full-time mom to their three children but later worked at Roe Dental Lab and then the Ohio County Headstart program, where she retired after many years of devoted service.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Jean Martin; and brother Bobby, and in laws Charles and Violet Padgelek.
Kathy leaves behind her very devoted and loving high school sweetheart and husband of 61 years, Stoney. Her children Lori (Tony) Coleman, Christy (Nick) Cornett, and Luke (Kim) Padgelek. Six grandchildren; Brittany (Kyle) Polanski, Jacob (Teghan) Coleman, Meggan (Mark) Garan, Cody (Jordan)Burnett, Lukas and Anna Padgelek. There are seven great grandchildren: Wyatt Polanski, Evelyn, Elliana and Jaxson Garan; Bristol, Carson and Maddox Burnett. Two bonus grandsons: Austin Raymond and Aiden Howard. Lots of family and friends who had become like family to her.
Kathy was most happy when she was surrounded by the loves of her life and the littles were her forever pride and joy.
Family meant everything to her. She always did anything she could do to make things better. Kathy was one of the bravest and kindest people anyone would ever meet.
We love you Kath, Mom, Grammy… You are our sunshine….and forever in our hearts.
Friends and family will be received Saturday August 29,2026, from 12 till 4 pm, with services at 2 pm, at Wilson Funeral Home -Heslop Chapel 415 Walnut Street Martins Ferry, with Fr. Thomas Marut officiating. Interment will be private a later date.
