Kenneth "Ken" Goble, 85, of Jerusalem, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2023 surrounded by his family at Hospice of Central Ohio in Columbus, Ohio following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 27, 1938 in Floyd County, Kentucky, a son of the late Beckham and Mindy Moore Goble.
Kenneth enjoyed living in the New London and Fitchville area where he raised his family and built several houses. After retiring from CertainTeed after nearly 40 years of service he and his family moved to Monroe County where he enjoyed life on the farm and gardening. Kenneth never met a stranger.
Surviving are his loving wife of 17 years, Geraldine Mallett Goble; seven children, Delores (Nick) Ison of Mansfield, Ohio, Ron Goble of Norwalk, Ohio, Raye Goble (Janet Hecker) of Willard, Ohio, Greg (Brenda) Goble of Fitchville, Ohio, Joyce (Dave) Miezejewski of Sullivan, Ohio, John (Janet) Goble of Beallsville, Ohio, Teresa Goble (Rick Zinninger) of Norwalk, Ohio; three step-children, Dan (Revonda) Mallett of Beallsville, Ohio, Peggy (Jack) Douglas of Barnesville, Ohio, and Patty (Brad) McGlumphy of Barnesville, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren with another on the way; a brother, Douglas (Mary) Goble of Alabama; a sister, Helene (Larry) Lawhun of Kentucky; also numerous nieces and nephews and other loving relatives.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Virginia Hamm Goble; five brothers, Jack, Jim, Art, Carl Lee, and Clarence; also four sisters, Christine, Moverine, Tootie, and Kat.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, May 17 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at the Wilson Funeral Home - Harper Chapel, 52728 Ohio Avenue, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Thursday, May 18 at 1pm with Wayne Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and keepsakes, memorial contributions may be made to the Beallsville First Christian Church, PO Box C, Beallsville, Ohio 43716.
