Kenny Dean Hanson, 67, of Bridgeport, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023, at his home. He was born on November 2, 1955, in Martins Ferry a son of the late Harry and Alice (Barnes) Hanson. He was a service clerk for the former Big Bear Department Store. He was a member of the Bridgeport Christian Friendship Council. Ken was an avid sports enthusiast, and an avid Ohio State and Cincinnati Bengals fan. He attended numerous sporting events, supporting Bridgeport High School, from the time he graduated from there in 1975, until his passing.  Ken was humble, kind, loving, caring and good at heart and soul. He loved his small town, his friends and family, and his Diet Coke.

He is survived by two sisters, Sharon Kalinowski and Barbara Hanson (Gary Hickenbottom); three nieces, Lori (Jay) Tubaugh, Tammy (Richard) Saucier and Lisa (Clifton) Wellman; and two nephews, Jim (Selena) Kalinowski and David Kalinowski; five great nephews and two great nieces.

Friends may call Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 12 – 2 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside. A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday at 2 pm in the funeral home with Reverend Nancy DeStefano officiating. Private Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family at Weeks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bridgeport High School, 55707 Industrial Drive, Bridgeport, Ohio 43912.
