Obituary

Koula (Mavrotheris) Maistros, 93, of National Rd., Morristown, OH., died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009 at Park Health Center, St. Clairsville, OH. She was born Oct. 10, 1915 in Chios, Greece the daughter of the late John and Despina Mavrotheris. Along with her husband Gust, she was co-owner/operator of the former Bell Motel of Morristown which later became the Bell Nursing Home. Koula was also the retired co-owner/operator of the former Buckeye Cleaners of Martins Ferry, OH. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life Giving Fountain of Martins Ferry and the Philptochos Society of the church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gust Maistros in 1984. Surviving are two daughters Delores (Tony) Kefalos of St. Clairsville and Mary Maistros of Morristown, a son Michael G. (Mary) Maistros of St. Clairsville, eight grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 13, 2009 at 11:00am at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life Giving Fountain with Rev. Menelaos Papageorgiou officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Trisagion services will be held Thursday at 7:30 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life Giving Fountain.
