L. Marie Brown Risden 97, of St. Clairsville formerly of Tiltonsville, died Saturday August 13, 2011 at Forest Hill Retirement Community. She was born April 3, 1914 in Harpersville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Oscar and Martha Evens Cornez. She was a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church St. Clairsville, a former member of the Tiltonsville United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, and for a time served as Church Secretary. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph T. Brown, two sisters Sally Dupke, and Martha Weir, a son-in-law Frank Van Hove. Marie is survived by two daughters; Barbara Van Hove of Ashland, and Judy (Lee) Wigal of St. Clairsville, nine grandchildren; Dr. Shawn, Frank T. and Randy Van Hove, Shelly Woode, Brad,and Todd Del Vecchio, Nicolle Bloom, David, and Debbie Wigal, thirteen great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside Monday August 15, 2011 from 5-8 pm, where private services will be held at the convenience on the family. Interment in Upland Cemetery Yorkville. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may made to Thoburn United Methodist Church 209 East Main St. St. Clairsville.
