Landon Alexander Sawchuk, 16, of Bridgeport passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 27, 2025, at his home.  He was born on April 9, 2009, in Martins Ferry, the son of Darrin (Jaclynn Smolenak) Sawchuk and Heather (Scott) Vankirk.

Landon was a former student at St. John Central Academy until its closing.   He was presently a Junior at Martins Ferry High School.  While at St. John's he was a member of the bowling, archery, and track teams.  He was extremely passionate about the great outdoors, and enjoyed fishing, and hunting but most of all his 5 dog brothers.  He touched many lives with his kindness and generosity beyond his years.  Landon was taken from us before his time; he lived his life to the fullest every single day.  His memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends and all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Darrin (Jaclynn Smolenak) Sawchuk, Heather (Scott) VanKirk, grandmothers, Jackie Sawchuk, Linda Friend and grandfather, Scott Friend.

Family and friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Bridgeport, OH 43912 from 2-8pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, Funeral Service will be at 7pm officiated by Vince Gianangeli.
