Larry W. Mamone, 79, of Willow Brook Rd., Martins Ferry, OH died Thursday, May 18, 2006 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born April 29, 1927 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Joseph A. and Elizabeth (Columbo) Mamone. He retired as Chief of the Division of Reclamation for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Larry was also a state and federal mine inspector. He was President of the Italian-American Club, and a member of the Polish National Alliance and American Legion Post #38 all of Martins Ferry. He was a veteran of the US Navy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary J. (Sumerfield) Mamone, his daughter Brenda L. Brown, and his brother Carl J. Mamone. Surviving are his son Tony Mamone and his wife Carol of St. Clairsville, OH, five grandchildren Charlie and Sean Brown, and Anthony, Michael, and Matthew Mamone. Larry will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends and his beloved dog Brutus. Friends will be received Sun., 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Monday, May 22, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Don McKelvey officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
