"Pickle" Grear
October 12, 1940 – October 12, 2021
LARRY GEORGE "PICKLE" GREAR
Softly in the morning of October 12, 2021, Larry George "Pickle" Grear took the hand God offered him and quietly left us all.
Born October 12, 1940 in Barnesville, Ohio, he was the grandson of the late John and Mattie Grear. In addition to his grandparents, he was also preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Grear Browning; stepfather, Leroy Browning; father-in-law, Jim Cook; and brother-in-law, Eugene Milhoan.
A 1958 graduate of Barnesville High School, Pickle, as he was fondly known by everyone, served his country in the United States Navy with honor, courage, and commitment. He retired from Watt Car and Wheel Company and after retirement, worked as a bartender. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed each moment they could all spend together.
Pickle leaves heartwarming memories to those who survive; his wife, Rose (Cook) Grear; daughters, Michelle (Barb Toohey) Bohandy, Stephanie (Buddy Harr) Bostic, Julie (Brad Thomas) Ressler; sons, Michael (Mariea) Grear, James (Mary Beth) Ressler; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Evelyn Cook; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Beth and Mike Louden; nieces, nephews, and many bonus grandchildren in his extended family.
Honoring Pickle's wishes, private Graveside Services and Interment will take place. The family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the 3C's Cancer Support Group, 236 Morgantown Avenue, Barnesville, Ohio 43713 or to the children's programs at Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library, 308 E.
