Larry E. Saffell, 70, of Belmont, Ohio, died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Wheeling Hospital. He was born November 2, 1943 in Belmont, Ohio, son of the late Cecil C. Saffell and Mary K. McFarland Saffell. Larry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed his grandchildren immensely. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Marjorie Wehr and Mary Louise Kostelia and brother, Cecil Willard Saffell. Larry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara (Mayberry) Saffell of Belmont, Ohio; daughter, Tracey Stephen of Woodsfield, Ohio; sons, Tim A. (Susan) Saffell of Flushing, Ohio, Terry L. Saffell of Belmont, Ohio, Byron E. (Brenda) Saffell of Bethesda, Ohio; grandchildren, Andrew (Nikki) Saffell, Samantha, Grace, and Abby Stephen, Natalie and Jase Saffell; great-grandchildren, Alec and Conner Saffell and Lillian Wise; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit, Friday from 6-8p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service, beginning at noon, Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home & Crematory, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio. Pastor Tim Snyder officiating. Honoring Larry's wish, interment will be private and at the convenience of his family.
