Lawrence A. "Larry" Paulus, Sr., 66, of Bridgeport, OH died Mon., Mar. 8, 2004 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born Jun. 18, 1937 in Wheeling a son of Venita McCormick Paulus and the late Raymond A. Paulus. He is retired from Ormet Corp. of Hannibal, OH. Larry is a 34 year member of Bridgeport Eagles Aerie #995, a member of Eagles Aerie #456 and P.N.A. #2220 both of Martins Ferry, Lansing Sportsman Club, Bridgeport Foresters, Polish American Political Club of Wolfhurst, A.A.R.P., and he was a Catholic. Surviving in addition to his mother of Wheeling are his wife Brenda Groves Paulus, three daughters Paula M. (Craig) Clevenger of Dillonvale, Annette S. (Mark) Montgomery of Ashtabula, OH, and Kathryne A. Paulus and her fiancee D. J. Beiswengen of Wheeling, a son Lawrence A. Paulus, Jr. of Akron, two brothers Richard (Pauline) Paulus of Tenn. and Alan (Karen) Paulus of Moundsville, a sister Lois Jean Long of Wheeling, five grandchildren Tina, Ray, Sherri, Pam, and David, six great grandchildren, and numerous family members and friends. Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH Wed. 2-4 & 6-8 PM and Thurs. 10 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM with Rev. Eric Hall officiating. At Larry's request he will be cremated after the services. Interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc.
