Obituary

Tuttle, Lawrence W. (Larry), 87 of Bridgeport, Ohio died Saturday evening, February 25, 2012. He was born on October 3, 1924, in Canton, Ohio, and the only son of Lawrence Rudolph and Madeline Greer Tuttle. Larry was a member of the Kirkwood Presbyterian Church where he had served as a Trustee and Deacon. A veteran of the US Army in Korea. He was also a lifetime member of the Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Department, giving over 58 years of service and where he served as Assistant Chief, President and Chaplain. "Tut," as he was affectionately known, was also a member of the VFW, American Legion and Eagles. He retired from Blaw-Knox Rolls in 1987, but continued to work in his grass-cutting business which he retired from in 2011.Larry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Evelyn Raies Tuttle,and a sister Evelyn Kirchner. He is survived by his son, Patrick Andrew Tuttle and Sabrina Alder, his fiancée, of Bridgeport; Jo Elaine Smith of Arlington, Virginia; Pamela Greer Loftis and her husband Scott of Santa Rosa, California; Dianne Leigh Tuttle of Santa Rosa, California; a sister Eleanor Aspliden of FL., two granddaughters and six grandsons; one great-granddaughter and three great-grandsons.Visitation will be on Saturday from 6-8 pm, and Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside, and on Monday from 10am till time of service at 11 am at the Kirkwood Presbyterian Church 200 Bennett St., Bridgeport with Rev. David Demarest officiating, interment in Union Cemetery St. Clairsville.Memorial contributions may be made to the Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 44, Bridgeport, Ohio 43912.Bridgeport Fire Department Services Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.Full military services will held at the Kirkwood Presbyterian Church by the Belmont County Council of the VFW on Monday at 10:45 am.
