Leisa Faye Copley, 59, of Bethesda, Ohio, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Liza's Place, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 23, 1956 in Morgantown, West Virginia, she was the daughter of James Given and Doris Jean Smith Given.
Leisa is survived by her husband, Charley Copley of Bethesda, Ohio; daughter, Stacey Copley (Chris Scurlock) of Pleasant City, Ohio; son, James (Crystal) Copley of Olathe, Kansas; parents, James and Doris Given of Woodsfield, Ohio; brother, Chuck Given of Lewisville, Ohio; German daughter, Stephanie (Stephen) Zimmermann of Mammendorf, Germany; and Argentina daughter, Patricia Groeting of Cordoba Argentina.
A 1976 graduate of Woodsfield High School and 1977 graduate of Wheeling Career College, she worked for Jack's Surplus City, Woodsfield Nursing and Rehab, and Union Local Schools. She enjoyed her volunteer service with Project Manna (Union Local Food Bank), Barnesville Hospital, and Barnesville Health Care Center (now Astoria Place). Leisa attended Bethesda Christian Church, where she was active in Samaritan Missionary Ladies and Prayer Warriors.
Leisa was an inspiration to other patients during her time at Liza's Place and her true passion, no matter the circumstance, was to put God first, then the needs of others, and lastly, herself. This, she knew, was the recipe of real joy.
