Lemoyne E. Shrodes, 71, of Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, April 3, 2009 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born Aug. 7, 1937 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Richard C. Shrodes and Lottie (Dudzik) Shrodes Blaschak. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and as a police dispatcher for the Martins Ferry Police Dept. Lemoyne was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #38, and the former Eagles all of Martins Ferry, and VFW Post 4811, Yorkville, OH. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Paul J. Shrodes and a brother Richard C. Shrodes, Jr. Surviving are his former wife Boonta (Yindee) Shrodes, a son Andrew L. Shrodes of Martins Ferry, two daughters Kanya M. (Julio, Jr.) Santiago of Bannock, OH and Junta (Russell) Hicks of Shadyside, OH, and four granddaughters, Brittni and Lauren Shrodes, Yanissa Hicks and Secret Santiago Friends will be received Monday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating. Burial follows in St. Mary's Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by Yorkville Post #4811 V.F.W. in the funeral home prior to services.
