Lewis W. "Bill" Rhodes, 57, of S. 3rd St., Martins Ferry, OH died Mon., Mar. 22, 2004 at West Virginia University Medical Center, Morgantown, WV. He was born Apr. 7, 1946 in Benwood a son of the late Raymond and Wanda (Taylor) Rhodes. Bill was retired from ABF Freight System of Martins Ferry and was a certified Home Inspector. He was a past exalted ruler of Martins Ferry Elks Lodge #895 and assisted with coaching multiple sports for many years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Raymond "Butch" Rhodes and a sister Carolyn Orum. Surviving are two sons Lewis W. Rhodes, II and Danny A. Rhodes and their mother Sylvia Rhodes all of Martins Ferry, a brother John (Joyce) Rhodes of FL, and a loving companion Sharon Simms of Warwood. Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH, Thur., 2-4 & 6-8 PM and Fri., Mar. 26, 2004 from 11 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM when Rev. William O. Webster will officiate. Burial follows in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
