LEWIS R. CANTER, 78, of Bridgeport, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 in Akron, Ohio. He was born March 29, 1930 in Wolfhurst, the son of the late Lester and Letha (Perdue) Canter. Lewis was a retired truck driver with Smith Transfer Co. in Cleveland, a Methodist by faith, and was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary (Sterling) Canter; a daughter Lorrie Canter and a sister Betty Bachie. Lewis is survived by a son Lewis Canter and his wife Cheri of Bridgeport; two daughters Lu Ann Harris and her husband Dave and Melody Jordan and her husband Timothy both of North Royalton, Ohio; a brother Charles Canter of Tacoma, WA; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd, Brookside, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 am with Reverend Wayne Ickes officiating. Interment will follow at Linwood Cemetery, Blaine.
