Obituary

Lewis Clemons Lewis Clemons, 80, of Martins Ferry, OH died Tue., Jan. 29, 2002 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born Sept. 29, 1921 in Jackson, KY a son of the late Roy and Lyda Lovins Clemons. He was retired from the Martins Ferry plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, a member of V.F.W. Post #3613 and American Legion Post #38 both of Martins Ferry, and a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII where he received the Bronze Star. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers. Surviving are his wife Audrey M. Spencer Clemons, two sons Raymond Clemons and Richard L. Clemons and his wife Kelly all of Martins Ferry, two brothers Wesley Clemons of Hindman, KY and Alex Clemons of Walkerton, IN, a sister Louise Mann of Walkerton, IN, and five grandchildren. Friends will be received Fri. 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Sat. at 11: 00 AM with Rev. Joseph Sanders officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry with full military graveside honors by the Belmont Co. Council of the V.F.W. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 306 Locust St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935.
