Lillian M. (Laase) Butler, 87, of Martins Ferry, OH died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born Jan. 17, 1923 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late George and Mary (Horvath) Laase. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry. Lillian was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family and grand dogs and especially loved her summer flowers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William L. Butler, Jr., a brother George "Corky" Laase, a sister Virginia Caprita. Surviving are two sons Gary (Joyce) Butler of St. Clairsville, OH, and William L. Butler, III of Martins Ferry, three daughters Gail (Mark) Soboslai of Belle Vernon, PA, Debbie (Brian) Baiocco of St. Clairsville, OH, and Cindy (Tom) Dudzik of Martins Ferry, a brother Robert Laase of Duluth, MN, a sister Shirley Pelkowski of Mercer, WI, eight grandchildren Shelley Butler, Jennifer Hodges, Michael and Steven Soboslai, Brianna Cummins, Bethany Sterling, Ben and Brittany Baiocco, and three great grandchildren Stella Grace and Abigail Hodges, and Mia Marie Sterling. Friends will be received Friday from 3-8 pm and Saturday, September 4, 2010 from 10:00 am until time of services at 11:00 am at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry with Rev. David Stammerjohn officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Deacons of the church will hold services Friday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
