Linda Rose (Weidetz) Schultz , 73, of Martins Ferry, OH died peacefully on July 7, 2020 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. She was born in Wheeling, on April 10, 1947. She is preceded in death by parents, Alvin L. Weidetz, Sr. and Rose A. (Hoffman)Weidetz, sister, Kathryn A. Gibson and sister-in-law, Ophelia (Lillia) Weidetz.
She is survived by her former spouse and longtime friend, Howard Schultz, son, Erik (Marnie) Schultz, Columbus, OH, and daughter, Jennifer Schultz, Portland, OR.
She will be greatly missed by her three grandchildren: Reagan and Addie Wernet and Maggie Schultz, who knew her as Mimi. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn "Sis" (Dave) Todd, Hilliard, OH, brother, Alvin (Charo) Weidetz Jr., San Antonio, TX, by her nieces: Alvania (Leif) Thompson and Michelle (Craig) Bryant, and nephews: Dave (Jeff) Todd, and Alvin (Stacey) Weidetz III.
Linda was a 1965 graduate of Martins Ferry High School and received her x-ray technician certification from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in 1967. In 1986 she proudly graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Administration from Wheeling Jesuit University.
She started her career at Wheeling Clinic and ended as a radiologic technologist at Wheeling Hospital, where she retired in 2010. Linda was a mechanically inclined and creative person. She was an avid crafter, gardener, and enjoyed doing home improvements, decorating, baking and cooking. She loved spending time with her granddaughters.
Due to COVID restrictions, the family will hold a special celebration at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Belmont County Animal Rescue League, 50580 National Road, East, St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950. Arrangements by Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH.
