Lois G. (Pitcher) Stephens, 80, of Martins Ferry, OH died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Accuity Specialty Hospital, Bellaire, OH. She was born July 30, 1932 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Ernest W. and Gladys (Ruble) Pitcher. Lois retired from AT & T after 35 years of service. She worked in Columbus, Dayton, Barnesville and St. Clairsvile. Lois was a member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry and the Telephone Pioneers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother John William Pitcher. Surviving are her loving husband of 44 years Homer O. Stephens, a daughter, Ramona (Rich) McMillen of Shadyside, OH, a son, Steven (Nancy) Stephens of Houston, TX, a sister, Margaret Ann Humphrey of Grove City, OH, five grandchildren; Christina (Richard) Welshans and Jennifer, Kyle and Bret Stephens and Patricia (Heath) Lohr and great grandchildren; Brook, Zoei and R. J. Welshans, Caiden Stephens, Heath Lohr, Jr. and Eston Lohr. Friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Minister Rod Kasler officiating. Burial follows in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church School, 710 S. Zane Hwy., Martins Ferry, OH 43935.
