Lois was secretary for the late Pastor Paul W. O. Heist of St. John's Lutheran Church for many years and was a volunteer for over 24 years at East Ohio Regional Hospital all of Martins Ferry. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church of Bethlehem, WV. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W. Schunn, brothers; Charles, Harold, William, and Ned Shurtz and sisters: Dorothy Shrodes, Marjorie Stockstill and Wilma Kehrer. Surviving are her daughters; Arleen (Robert) Hawk of Greensburg, PA and Anita Schunn of Martins Ferry, brother-in-law, Robert A. Schunn of Florida, sister-in-law, Betty Lou Shurtz of Carrollton, OH and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, Monday 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm where services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy Spence officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Memorial contributions may be made to, Grace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 16 Ridgecrest Rd., Bethlehem, WV 26003.
