Obituary

Louis Ellsworth Bain, 88, of St. Clairsville, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, in his residence. He was born on June 28, 1935, in Lansing, a son of the late Peter and Helen (Baudillar) Bain. He served his country in the US Army, retired from Consolidation Coal Company Oak Park Mine, loved farming, gardening, maintaining his lawn to perfection, fishing, and boating.

He is survived by two daughters, Debra (Brent) Hatcher and Mary (Mark) Palmer; two brothers, James Bain and Claude Covington; four grandchildren, Jared (Kelley) Hatcher, Ryan Hatcher, Eric (Mikie Ratliff) Bain, and Jennifer (Wyatt) Wahlbrink; three great grandchildren, Kaley Ann and Louis Brent Hatcher, and Emerie Rose Wahlbrink; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Chloe.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathryn Ann (Yeager) Bain; sisters, Eileen Maizlik and Helen Semkowski; brothers, Roger Covington, and Jerry Covington; and a son-in-law, Roy Chambers.

Friends may call Friday from 11am to 1 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside.  Funeral Services will be held Friday at 1 pm in the funeral home with Minister Robin Weier officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.  Military Honors will be provided by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
