Lucille (Mayer) Gasaway Cubbin Smith, 94, of Colerain, OH, died Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Liza's Place, Valley Hospice South, Wheeling, WV. She was born April 20, 1920 in Wheeling a daughter of the late Edmund and Laura (Porter) Mayer. Lucille retired as secretary for Westbrooke Elementary School, Bridgeport School District. She was a member of Way Memorial Spiritualist Church of Wheeling Island and Colerain Senior Citizens Center. In addition to her parents Lucille was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Gasaway, her second husband, Bud Cubbin, her third husband, Grover Smith, Jr., brothers; Charles, Edmund, Alvin, Ray and William, sisters: Dorothy, Rhea, Annabelle and Betty. Surviving are her children; Barry (Karen) Gasaway of Granville, OH, Bob (Cheryl) Gasaway of Reynoldsburg, OH and Barbara (Bob) Sako of St. Clairsville, OH, grandchildren; Noelle (Mark) Anetts, Eric (Maria) Gasaway, Michael Gasaway, Jami (Marty) Flannelly, Anthony Sako and Kyle Gasaway, great grandchildren; Summer, Reece, Kailey, Tyler, Aimee and Kori, great great grandchildren; Aubrey and Dane, many nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, Mildred Gasaway (Morris) Brannon. Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Friday 5-9 pm and Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 11am until time of services at 1:00 pm with Barry Gasaway officiating.
