Obituary

LOPER, Lula Mae Welshans, 92, of Mount Pleasant, Ohio, passed Monday July 9, 2012 at E.O.R.H., Martins Ferry, Ohio. She was born in Mt. Pleasant on November 28, 1919, a daughter of the late Wilmer and Mable Snodgrass Welshans. Lula was a retired Nurses Aid at East Ohio Regional Hospital; a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church; the Rebecca Lodge and the Well-Doers Class. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Elmer "Tage" Loper; three brothers: Franklin, George and Charles Welshans; a sister Rosa Lea DeAngelis, and a grandson Ryan Loper. Lula is survived by her son Patrick Loper of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters: Naomi (Richard) Boroski of Las Vegas, NV., and Judy Ann Loper; a sister Alice Riley both of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren: Carla Loper Faldowski Patrick Loper, R.Adam Boroski, Elena Boroski Baker, Jason Boroski, fourgreat-grandchildren: Nikki Faldowski, Rebecca Faldowski Lowe,Patrick (PJ) Loper, Ethan Emery Boroski, and one great-great granddaughter; Rose Loper, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Lula Mae (Lula Bell) was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant. She contributed support as an active member of her Sunday school class the "Well-Doers". Her dish rag sales will be missed by neighbors and the charities the sales supported. The Christian values of faith, hope, and love she taught to her children and grandchildren by her words and deeds.Lula's front porch swing was a respite for neighbors. She always welcomed their company. Her hot rolls, homemade noodles, and raspberry pie will also be a part of Lula's kitchen legacy. Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second Street, Dillonvale, Ohio where services will be held Friday July 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
