Madelyn Holbrook, 91 of Martins Ferry died peacefully on June 23, 2026, at The Inn at Summit Trail in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. She was born on March 27, 1935, in Martins Ferry to Jack and Anna (Baldo) Kemo.
Madelyn was a longtime member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Martins Ferry, where she served on numerous boards. She also served on the Board of the Martins Ferry Public Library, and the Martins Ferry High School Alumni Association where she served as secretary-treasurer. Madelyn was also a member of the Alpha Pi Sigma sorority, Gamma Chapter.
Madelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, William Holbrook, bothers Louis and Jack Kemo, sisters Norma Totterdale and Emily Seamon, her niece Gwen Totterdale, and nephews Kim Kemo and Matt Totterdale.
Madelyn is survived by her daughters, Laurie (Craig) Morgan of Pickerington, Ohio; Lisa Holbrook (Robert) White of Kansas City, Missouri; grandsons Ben (Jessica) Karrasch of Columbus and Jared (Becca) Karrasch of Maineville, Ohio; and great-grandsons Noel, William, and Max Karrasch. She also leaves behind 11 beloved nieces and nephews.
Madelyn will always be remembered for her strength, kindness, integrity, wisdom, and sense of humor. She left an indelible mark on everyone who knew and loved her.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home - Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry. Family and friends will be received Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 11 till Service at 1:30pm. Rev. Dr. Bill Lawrence will officiate. Burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Martins Ferry Public Library or Capital City Hospice in Columbus, Ohio.
