Marcella G. (Vossen) Ashton, 92, of Martins Ferry, OH died November 13, 2016 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. She was born January 20, 1924 in Wheeling, WV a daughter of the late Jacob and Marie (Guegold) Vossen.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Martins Ferry where she sang in the choir for many years. Marcella was a former member of the Ohio Valley Choral, Keenagers, and the Yesteryear Group.

In addition to her parents, Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey W. Ashton and sisters; Marie Winland, Carmela Gaffney, Shirley Jackson and Evelyn Jackson.

Surviving are her children; Woodward (Gary Hiler) Ashton of Roanke, VA and Evron M. (Edward) Bisbocci of Martins Ferry, OH, brother, Jacob (Mary Frances) Vossen of Monroeville, PA, grandchildren; Thomas (Lindsay) Ashton, Benjamin (Natalie) Ashton and Christopher E. (Brandy) Bisbocci and great-great grandchildren; Quentin and Lucia Bisbocci and Kyle Ashton, Bo Ashton and Jack Ashton and many nephews and nieces including, Karen Smirnakis and Jake and David Vossen.

Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 40 N. 4th St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Brandenburg officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. John's Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
