Marcia Kay Hess, 63, of Senecaville,formerly of Centerville, Ohio passed away peacefully Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Morrison House Hospice of Zanesville, Ohio. While cancer won the battle of her body, it could not conquer her spirit.
Kay was born March 6, 1948 in Bellaire, Ohio, daughter of the late Harold and Jesse Fitch.
Kay was a graduate of Union Local High School.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Lillian Ault and Curly Fitch Boner.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jim Hess; children, Jim (Michelle) Hess, Jr. and Chris Hess; two grandsons, Dakota and Logan Hess, all of Centerville, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Kay was a generous and kind person, who was loved by many friends and their children. She had a smile and words of encouragement for everyone she met. She made everyone feel so welcomed in her home, but her real passion and purpose in life, was caring for her family. She was a nurturing wife, mom, and grandma. She loved playing with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Kay will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Kay chose to donate her body to Ohio State for research, another example of her selfless spirit.
A memorial service will be held, Saturday, October 8, 2011 11 a.m., Freedom Worship Chapel, 10 Weedon Avenue, Cambridge, Ohio, Pastor Don Glass officiating.
The Hess Family would like to say, "thank you" to the staff at Morrison House for the wonderful care they extended to Kay.
