Marcia M. (McGuire) Kutys, 70, of Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009 at her home. She was born Nov. 15, 1938 in Steubenville, OH the only daughter of the late Patrick and Georgia (Hobson) McGuire. She worked as a registered nurse in WV and OH throughout her 40 year career. Marcia graduated from Wintersville High School and the Good Samaritan School of Nursing, Zanesville, OH where she remained active with their Alumni Assoc. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry, Catholic Nurses Assoc. of America, and past President of District #2 Ohio Nurses Assoc. Marcia, as historian of the McGuire family, has compiled the family histories of the following: McGuire, Peel, Burns, VeDepo, Hobson, Michener, Kutys, Luszczak, Suessfieger, Otte, Longstretch, Hill, Graham, Scrogins, Kuster, Fisher, and Doherty. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Louis F. Kutys, Sr., three brothers Patrick D., John "Larry", and Vincent "Greg" McGuire, and a sister-in-law Joyce LeBlane McGuire. Surviving are two sons Louis F. Kutys, II of St. Clairsville, OH, and Edward J. Kutys of Reynoldsburg, OH, a grandson Shane M. Kutys, a brother Bro. G. Edward "Hugh" McGuire, F.S.C. of Beltsville, MD, two sisters-in-law Alda McGuire and Myrtle McGuire, and a brother-in-law John Kutys. Friends will be received Thursday, 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Revs. Thomas A. Magary and Tim McGuire officiating. Burial follows in St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH. Rosary devotions will be recited Thursday at 3:00 pm followed by Wake services at 7:30 pm in the funeral home.
