Margaret L. Whalen Margaret L. (Hosken) Whalen, 85, of Martins Ferry, OH died Sat. June 8, 2002 at Bishop Hodges Continuous Care Center, Wheeling, WV. She was born April 11, 1917 in Turtle Creek, PA a daughter of the late William and Mary (Kreiling) Hosken. Margaret was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Martins Ferry. She was retired from the former Stone & Thomas Department Store in Wheeling, WV. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother William Hosken and a sister Frances Hosken. Surviving are her husband William Whalen of sixty-one years, two daughters Bonnie Lou Best of Martins Ferry and Colleen Redinger and her husband David of Parkersburg, WV, four grandchildren Dana Mader and her husband Jon and Jill Redinger all of Parkersburg, WV, Dr. Scott Best and his wife Dr. Brooke Mitchell of Philadelphia, PA, and Brian Best and his wife Erin of Martins Ferry and a great granddaughter Jordan Elizabeth Mader of Parkersburg, WV. Friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH on Mon. 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM where services will be held Tue. June 11, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Van D. Fisher officiating.
