Obituary

Marguerite J. (Spradling) Muffeny, 96, of Martins Ferry, OH died Mon., July 18, 2005 at Park Health Center, St. Clairsville, OH. She was born Sept. 15, 1908 in Neslonville, OH a daughter of the late Edward Pleasant and Alice Belle (Heselden) Spradling. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Martins Ferry where she participated in the U & I Class, Faith in Action and the Shut-In Visitation Committees. Marguerite was also a member of the former '65 Club and the Martins Ferry Senior Center where she was a drummer in the Kazoo Band and a leader in the Armchair Volleyball Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Francis E. Muffeny in 1974, two brothers Alvie and Herman Spradling, and a sister Esther Jeffers. Surviving are a daughter Marilyn (Paul) Redosh of St. Clairsville, OH, a son Frank A. (Ann) Muffeny of Houston, TX, six grandchildren Dale (Paula) Muffeny, Mark Muffeny, Brenda (Mel) Valentine, Laura Breiding, Beth (J. C.) Raies, and Rebecca (Craig) Isner, and twelve great grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2005 at 10:00 AM with Minister Bill Fulton officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church or the Martins Ferry Senior Center.
