Marie Bass Didion, 71, of Dumfries VA, formerly of Colerain, Ohio died Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Potomac Hospital, Virginia. Marie was born June 3, 1936 in West Virginia, a daughter of Ruth and the late Clinton J. "C.J." Starbuck. She retired from the Prince William County Police Department Criminal Investigations Division after many years of dedicated service. She was also a former employee of Mehlmans. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Denise Bass and a brother, Allen Starbuck. Marie is survived by her mother, Ruth Starbuck; a daughter, Deborah Collins and her husband Michael of Flushing, Ohio; two sons, Don Bass and his wife Donna of Palm City, Florida and Doug Bass of Dale City, Virginia; ten grandchildren, Philip, Kristina, Kyle, Rachael, Amber, Jared, Chris, Joseph, Laurie, and Karen; Six great grandchildren; a host of extended family and friends. A committal service will be held at 2 pm Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville, Ohio with the Reverend John Brown officiating.
