Obituary

Marie Agnes Gibbons 91, of Dillonvale, died Tuesday September 30, 2014 at Acuity Specialty Hospital Bellaire. She was born October 1, 1922 in Lebanon, PA, a daughter of the late Charles and Marie (Springborn) Eisenhauer. She was a retired employee of the former A&P Grocery Store in Bridgeport, she was an active member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church Colerain, and the Colerain Senior Center. She served during the World War II sending Western Union Morse code messages to various Army Centers in the East. She later after marriage to John C. Gibbons cared for over 100 young foster children over many years. She loved gardening, sewing, and crocheting. She was a graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School in 1941. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband John C. Gibbons in 1997, her siblings Charles, Richard, Henry, and Joseph, and Lucy Eisenhauer. Marie is survived by her children Lisa Burkhead- Gibbons, and Michael Gibbons both of Dillonvale, Emma Miller of Newark, Ohio and Mary Jo Linebarger of Tulsa OK., three sisters; Helene Eisenhauer of Lebanon, PA, Sister Ruth Eisenhauer of St. Joseph Villa, Philadelphia, PA, and Rose Mary Steiner of Reading, PA, four granddaughters; Jennifer Harrison, Alexa Marie (Cyle) Gavorcik, Brittany Brianne Burkhead, and Tiffany Nicole Burkhead, a great grandson Joshua "Little Man" Stevens, also several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 154 Second St. Dillonvale on Sunday October 5, 2014 from 12-3 and 6-8 pm, wake service will recited on Sunday at 7:30 pm at the Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 am at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church Colerain with Fr. Tim McGuire as Celebrant, interment in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove.
