Marie C. (Strauss) Coss, 93, of Belmont Ave., Martins Ferry, OH, died Monday, Jul. 7, 2008 at home. She was born Jun. 7, 1915 in Bridgeport, OH a daughter of the late John W. and Mary E. (Mauck) Strauss. She was retired from the former M. Marsh & Sons Stogie Co. of Wheeling, WV. Marie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's Club both of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harmon Coss, a daughter Josephine Myers, a son Gerald F. Coss, four brothers August, John, George and Joseph Strauss, a sister Kathryn Herrman, a grandson Michael Strauss and a great granddaughter Brittany Cika. Surviving are two daughters Mary Evelyn Staley and Patricia "Patti" Cika both of Martins Ferry, twelve grandchildren Connie Hackett, Dale J., David A., James M., Jerry, M, and Patrick F. Staley, George R. and Matthew C. Myers, Dianna (DeeDee) Bender, Kimberly A. Cika-Powell, and John M. and Wayne A. Cika, seventeen great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday, 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Friday, Jul. 11, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, with Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating. Burial follows in St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Rosary devotions will be recited Thursday at 3:00 pm followed by Wake services at 7:30 pm both in the funeral home.
