Obituary

Marietta J. Martin, 81, of Bethesda, Ohio, died Friday, July 08, 2016 at Ohio Valley Medical Center. Born September 15, 1934 in Belmont, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Haradon J. and Marguerite Rice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Rice. Marietta is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert H. Martin of Bethesda, Ohio; daughter, Molly A. (Timothy) Sachs of Amelia, Ohio; son, Rob S. Martin of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Zachary and Morgan Drake; sister, Peggy Stephens of Belmont, Ohio; and brother, John I. Rice of Greenville, Michigan. A gifted and compassionate teacher, Marietta was a Special Education Teacher for the blind and physically handicapped. She truly valued education, as it provides opportunities for individuals to reach their potential. She earned her B.A. from Ohio State University, her Masters from Xavier University in Cincinnati, and is an honorary member of Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority. Marietta was a wonderful cook and loved genealogy and family history. Family and friends are welcome to visit, Monday from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service, beginning at 11 a.m., Kelly Kemp Braido Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio. The service for Marietta will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m., Kelly Kemp Braido Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio. Pastor Dan Purdom officiating.

Interment

Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio.
