Marilou (Rutter) Ecker Weissman, 82, of Martins Ferry, OH, formerly of Wheeling, WV died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling. She was born June 10, 1927 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Ralph and Virginia (Nixon) Rutter. She was a former Bell Telephone operator and especially proud of her association with the Arthur Murray Dance Studio as an instructor. Marilou was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Raymond H. Ecker, her second husband Sydney Weissman, and a brother Richard Rutter. Surviving are a daughter Janet Albaugh of Martins Ferry, three sons Mark (Sherree) Ecker of Crystal Beach, FL, Dan (Bobbi) Ecker of Mozart, WV, and Scott (Tracie) Ecker of St. Johns, FL, seven grandchildren: Collen, Adrienne, Bridey, Den Jr., Kristen, Kevin, and Karli, and three great grandchildren Scott, Azra, and Kayden. Family and friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH, Monday 6-9 pm and Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009 from 11am until 12:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, with Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Wake services will be held Monday at 8:30 pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
