Obituary

Marjorie Mae Travis, 95, of Barnesville, Ohio and formerly of Lloydsville, Ohio, died February 15, 2018 at Astoria Place.  She was born September 13, 1922 in Egypt Valley, Ohio, daughter of the late Hugh Ferguson and Florence Simpson Ferguson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Travis, and eight brothers and sisters. Marjorie is survived by her daughters; Janice (Lewis) Sheppard of Belmont, Ohio, Jacquie (Danny) Campbell of Barnesville, Ohio; son, Jay (Misty) Travis of New Concord, Ohio; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, with the fourth one arriving in June; and sisters, Daisy Thatcher, Frannie Rinkes, and Millie Gibas. Marjorie was a Girl Scout Leader, seamstress, and an outstanding pie baker.  She was a member of the Baptist Church.  Being a virtuous woman, her love and devotion for her family was priceless.  She walked every day of her life by faith and touched the lives of everyone whose path she crossed.  Simply, there was no one better than Marjorie. Family and friends are welcome to visit, Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service, beginning at 2 p.m., Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 702 East Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio.  Reverend Wayne Ickes will officiate.  Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, Ohio.
