Mark K. Whaley, 56, of Bethesda, Ohio, died Friday, November 1, 2013 at his home. He was born July 10, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio, son of Donald K. Whaley and Shirley A. Lynn Whaley. Mark was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was very intelligent, having many talents, skills, and abilities in several areas. He worked for the United States Postal service, as a rural carrier, with 31 years of service. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Diana L. Whaley of Bethesda, Ohio; sons, Perry D. (Megan) Whaley of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Preston S. Whaley of Belmont, Ohio; grandchildren, Maddox Lee Whaley, Oliver Weston Whaley; sister, Lori (Greg) Tilton of Caldwell, Ohio; brother, Michael Whaley of St. Clairsville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit, Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio where the service will be conduced, Tuesday 11 am. Pastor Douglas Lynn officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Morristown, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for Mark's grandchildren's scholarship fund.
